Their unanimous reply: It has been a banner year for the business process outsourcing (BPO) sector. The mid-income condo development is in the midst of a “construction frenzy.” The demand for spaces in the Makati, Bonifacio Global City and Ortigas central business districts was even higher this year compared to last year. An international magazine that specializes in luxury travel has ranked Cebu as the 8th best island destinatino in Asia for 2011. The Condé Nast Traveler survey also recognized Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa in Mactan Island, Cebu, in the category of Top Resorts in Asia. It was the resort’s second time to make the list. In a field of 20 in Asia, the high-end Mactan resort ranked number 14 with 84.8, a notch higher than last year’s 83.2 points. In a recent special report, Forbes Asia included JG Summit in its list of Asia’s “Fab 50” companies, an annual ranking that the magazine has been making since 2005. JG Summit had a market value of $3.9 billion and an annual turnover of $2.7 billion, the report estimated. The new project, “Azalea Place,” under the Robinsons Residences brand catering to urban living, offers 407 units for as low as P2.03 million for a 25-square-meter studio unit to as high as P5.36 million for a two-bedroom 56.75-sqm unit.
